Fables Found

Everything Lives by What Grandparents Have Learned.

Brand Style Guide  ·  Earth Afloat Publishing  ·  2026
01 — Brand Essence

What Fables Found stands for

A collection of 19 fables in the age-old tradition — each one using fascinating animal behavior to illuminate timeless lessons for younger generations, so they themselves can grow to be wise grandparents. Each fable is preceded by a poem and founded on a conversation between a grandparent and grandchild.

Audience

Ages 7–11, and people of all ages. Bedtime reading for kids, classroom discussion with teachers, family storytime, or — as one reviewer wrote — “a gift for my mother and she enjoys it a lot.”

Tone

Wise without ever lecturing. Each lesson arrives through a question, not an answer — and the answer always lives in nature. The feeling of sitting beside an elder who has been watching the world long enough to understand it.

Promise

"Everything lives by what grandparents have learned." Nineteen fables, each grounded in real animal behavior, told in conversation between a grandparent and grandchild.

06 — Brand Voice

How Fables Found speaks

The brand voice feels like a trusted storyteller — not a broadcaster. Warm, wise, wonder-filled. It speaks to the child and the adult in the same breath.

The brand IS

  • Observational — wisdom drawn from real animal behavior in nature
  • Socratic — the elder asks; the child discovers the answer
  • Grandparent-to-grandchild — that specific, irreplaceable relationship
  • Global and multicultural — India, Greece, Africa, Italy, the Middle East
  • Unhurried — like the vulture waiting for thermals
  • Grounded — the lesson was always there; it just needed someone to show you
  • Story-first, moral-second — the lesson emerges, never arrives ahead of it
  • Timeless — these fables predate borders and belong to everyone

The brand is NOT

  • Loud, urgent, or sales-driven
  • Trendy or trying to be cool
  • Preachy or lesson-heavy
  • Corporate or institutional
  • Infantilizing of children
  • Nostalgic in a kitsch way
  • Overly digital or tech-forward
  • Generic "children's book" beige
"Everything lives by what grandparents have learned."
"The wish to fly must find wings."
"Watch the vulture and you will know."
"What is too much for one to do may be easy work for two."
"I have waited years to tell you this, and you will wait many years to tell another."
